Beating Our Brains Out

The military got it right when they banned talk of religion and politics at work. People take both equally personal. You wouldn't ask a coworker if they were a Jew or a Baptist. Why would you want to know if I am a democrat or republican? Even if you would ask about their religion, after finding out, you wouldn't take 15 minutes to tell them why their religion was wrong and they were stupid for following it. Why do you do it when you find out they are not politically aligned with you?

Why are we beating our neighbors brains out because they believe something different? I thought we hired politicians to beat each others brains out in congress for that? Most Americans want the same things regardless of the political affiliation they claim. We all want a better future for our kids, we all want better medical care and I don't know anyone who thinks homelessness is a good thing. The differences are in the way we get to achieving our goals.

Don't be so closed minded and believe just because they are blue and you are red that you are too different to get along. Let the politicians beat each others brains out. Let's get back to being good neighbors.
